Honda Grand Prix Concludes in St. Petersburg

The 1.8-mile St. Petersburg Street Circuit concluded on Sunday, with James Hinchcliffe taking home the top spot.

Farmington Hills, MI (I-Newswire) March 26, 2013 - It is with great pride that the team at Suburban Honda announce that James Hinchcliffe has taken home the victory of the 2013 Honda Grand Prix in St. Petersburg, Florida just this past weekend. While it is quite the drive from Suburban Honda's Farmington Hills dealership, quite a few eyes were fixed on the track as its events unfolded. Finishing the 2012 season with a ranking of 8th in points, Hinchcliffe earned his victory through tough competition from over two dozen other drivers.

This was the driver's first IndyCar win in only the 32nd start of his career, with journalists, professionals, and fans lauding the race's first Canadian-born winner with praise online. Hinchcliffe's victory looks to be silencing critics of Danica Patrick's failures behind the wheel of the Go Daddy-branded vehicle, potentially propelling both driver and sponsor to new heights for 2013.

The Grand Prix was more than simply a race, however. The community in St. Petersburg organizes a wide variety of events that coincide with the race, including foot races that qualify participants for entry into the stands of the Grand Prix, education for young children interested in the art and science of racing, a luncheon with professional racers, and more.

Events like the Honda Grand Prix are an excellent way for automakers such as Honda to get their name out and into conversations, especially in a time when they are offering a range of new features as standard equipment on entry-level models. Honda's dedication to their drivers is clear by just all of the features - from Bluetooth to SMS text messaging to an innovative touchscreen interface - that are included on even the basic LX trim levels of their 2013 models.

Known around the greater Detroit area for providing up to date Honda news as well as brand new vehicles, readers can contact the sales team at Suburban Honda for more information on the Grand Prix or to set up a test drive of a brand new 2013 Honda model. Their dealership can be found at 25100 Haggerty Road in Farmington Hills, Michigan, with convenient hours six days a week.
