Hon’ble Court Rules In Favor Of Senior Advocate Amit Desai, Practicing Criminal Lawyer, Dismisses Claims By The Plaintiff

On June 2, 2012, Additional Sessions Judge, Mapusa, issued favorable ruling to Advocate Amit Desai by quashing all misrepresentations by Advocate Rodrigues in a case involving loss to the exchequer.

Mumbai (I-Newswire) January 23, 2013 - The Additional Sessions Court at Mapusa, Goa on 2nd of June 2012 declared its judgment in favor Senior Advocate Amit Desai, practicing Criminal Lawyer in response to the complaint filed against the former and Advocate Ashwin Bhobe by Advocate Rodrigues. The Court rebuffed these accusations in its final judgment and clearly mentioned that they were ungrounded and unauthenticated, as Senior Advocate Amit Desai was present at the locations mentioned in the bill.

Adv. Amit Desai had clearly declared his charges at behest of the Advocate General for his tenure at Goa. The ruling by Additional Sessions Judge Maspusa, further observed that the complainant erred in deducing inferences from the said bills and the petition thereby could not be accepted.

Senior Adv. Amit Desai’s provision of legal services in Goa was warranted with appropriate documents including details of the conference held at Mumbai,where Public Prosecutor T.S. Sardinha, Adv. Ashwin Bhobe and Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh Gaonkar, served as witnesses.

After a probe into the matte, Justice S.N.Variava in his four page legal opinion claimed that the charges were copacetic and justified, considering the fact that Senior Advocate Amit Desai is one of the sought after senior advocates in Mumbai. Dismissing the plea of the plaintiff, the Court also stated that it would be unfair to embarrass Advocate Amit Desai by raising this issue. With respect to the nature of the case, Justice B.N.Srikrishna also opined that instead of criticizing any party, it must make an effort to understand the intricacies of the case and take a sound stand in the matter.

Consequently, Advocate Amit Desai stood absolved from all such misleading claims hither to made against him.
