Lennar Donates $5,000 To Windwood Farm, A Non-Profit, Long-Term Residential Care Facility For Abused And Neglected Children In Charleston.

(I-Newswire) June 28, 2010 - Charleston, SC--- The Coastal Carolina Division of Lennar recently presented Windwood Farm, a non-profit, long-term residential care facility for abused and neglected children in Charleston, with a $5,000 donation.

“Lennar has been actively involved with Windwood Farm for more than five years and we understand how important the facility is to children in need,” said Robert Hilliard, president of Lennar’s Coastal Carolina Division. “With the current turbulent economic conditions charitable organizations such as Windwood Farm are having more and more difficulty raising funds and we feel it is our responsibility to help in any way we can,” Hilliard said

Throughout the years, Lennar has hosted holiday parties for the children at Windwood Farm and has helped with the facility’s general maintenance items including landscaping, painting, repairing and building.

“It’s not just about donating money, but giving of our time and our hearts, on a continuing and connected basis, to help make our Community a better place and to help those who may not be able to help themselves,” Hilliard said.

Windwood Farm Home for Children is a private, non-profit long-term residential care treatment program that was established in 1985. Their mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect in order to build foundations to influence futures. The Windwood Farm campus is located on 110 acres and has a residential home, environmental education center, schoolhouse, equestrian center, and administrative building. Windwood Farm continues to be utilized as a valued resource in our community and currently serves 22 boys between the ages of 5 to 16.
