Hollywood Power Broker LaVern Whitt Set To Launch New Hollywood Talent Agency

Beverly Hills, CA (I-Newswire) September 14, 2011 - Entertainment Professional, LaVern Whitt, came to Hollywood with a distinctive gift of helping talented individuals reach their maximum potential by connecting them to Hollywood's Power players in the Film, Television and Music industry.

A Communications Major from Morgan State University, LaVern started touring with legendary recording artist Jeffery Osborne, assisting the road manager and as his wardrobe stylist. That opportunity lead to working behind the scenes in film and television productions shooting commercials, films and music video's featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop, Ice Cube, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, the late Tupac, and many others.

LaVern's first claim to fame was working her way up the Hollywood Chain and becoming one of Hollywood's most sought after Stuntwomen with her doubling for top celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg and TV shows like, FAMILY MATTERS, THE PARKER’S, HALF & HALF, LIVING SINGLE and THE JAMIE FOXX SHOW to name a few.

She successfully progressed to evolve her career role from Stuntwoman to an independent TV& Film Producer with the help of Will Smith who created a producer’s training position for her on his film HITCH. Since then, LaVern worked on hundreds of projects including the sit-com ALL OF US, developing the film FOOTPRINTS, shooting projects for Chaka Khan, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Lisa Raye McCoy, ESSENCE MAGAZINE featuring talk show host Wendy Williams, CNN anchor Don Lemon and Amber Riley from the hit show GLEE.

LaVern created a concept that was written into a TV Drama and teamed up with Executive Producer, Tracy Edmonds and sold the project to NBC. "Selling our project to a Prime Time Network was an opportunity that opened many doors for me”

LaVern was very instrumental in launching the career of TV/FILM star, Jada Pinkett- Smith and most recently, connecting International Teen pop sensation, SAVVY to “Slim” and “Baby” Williams of CASH MONEY RECORDS, to negotiate a major recording contract which is the buzz of the industry to date. Although the manager's of Savvy were unfamiliar with Cash Money Records, LaVern's vision, with the help of LisaRaye, of connecting them, was realized when she saw the group perform and instinctively knew that CMR was the power house this group needed.

Her goal all the while continues to remain the same: to help talented individuals reach success and help make dreams come true.

La Vern is set to shortly announce the official opening of a new talent agency that she’s currently planning to launch under her power based firm, JOURNEY ENTERTAINMENT, LLC.

Journey Entertainment, LLC is an independent Film, Music and Television Production Company that defines projects, oversees production and development in Music, Film and Television. In addition, the firm is set to take on multiple Actors, Musicians, and Talent for a full service agency representation.
