Washington, DC (I-Newswire) February 25, 2013 - HIV/Aids is a topic of taboo that doesn't get addressed enough. It's time we as a community work to better educate and inform the next generations. The CDC estimated 7800 new cases of heterosexual females diagnosed with HIV in 2012. The number of cases continues to increase among females both young and old and our youth seem not to care. For many young people, their first thoughts about HIV/AIDs are “Magic Johnson is living and healthy”. Some even think they can take a pill and easily live out the rest of their lives. Bridgette, a 41 year old African America woman, has been living with HIV/AIDs since she was 19 years old and tells a different story. Girls Talk TV traveled to Philadelphia, PA to sit down with her and ask her how it all happened. How did she cope afterwards? What can we do to help stop the spread of this epidemic?

Vance has worked with HIV/AIDs patients for over 20 years right here in the DC area, where the highest population of those infected with this virus reside. We ask him who's more at risk: heterosexual men versus homosexual men? Males versus females? Under 30 or over 30? Can we beat this without a cure? His responses are startling.
