Historiale Museum in Cassino, Italy: Schools Are Invited For A Visit

With the opening of the school year, the museum Historiale (Cassino, Italy), offers interesting possibilities to the schools that want students and schoolchildren to learn more about the Second World War and make an interesting experience.

Cassino (I-Newswire) October 25, 2012 - The Historiale Museum, in Cassino (province of Frosinone, not far away from Rome) is a special museum focused on the Second World War and notably on the Battle of Monte Cassino, one of the cruelest chapters of the Second World War. The museum was inaugurated to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Montecassino and was realized by Carlo Rambaldi (winner of three Oscars for Best Visual Effects).

A visit of the museum is especially useful for students, which can learn a lot about an important chapter of our history in an innovative way: Historiale, indeed, is different from other historical museums and offers the possibility to make a unique experience.

Schools that are interested in visiting the museum can fill in the form that you find on the official website and book their visit. The Historiale Museum has conceived special guided visits for schools, called “Da Casinum a Cassino – Viaggio nella Storia” (From Casinum to Cassino – Journey into History), which includes the visit to the Historiale Museum as well as to the Archaeological Museum and to the Abbey of Monte Cassino. This journey into the history of the territory of Monte Cassino will give visitors the chance to learn more about the main events that have marked the development of Cassino, from the Romans to the Second World War, visiting some of the most representative sites of the territory.

During the tour of the museums schools will be accompanied by a guide that will make the visit even more interesting and comprehensible. Guides are available in several languages: Italian, English, Polish, German and French.

The Historiale Museum is open from Sunday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm (last admission 5 pm). It is open to public from the 1st of March to the 30th of September but for groups over 20 people it is open all year (on booking). Tickets cost 10 euro per person and groups can book their visit by filling in the online form (you will be asked if you want to visit only the Historiale Museum, the Historiale and the Abbey of Monte Cassino or Historiale, the Abbey of Monte Cassino and the Archaeological Museum), or you can download the PDF file, fill in it and send it by fax.
