Based on Gaston Lourex’s gothic novel, the show features music by legendry composer Andrew Lloyd Weber. Celebrating 25 years of grand success at the theatre’s box office since it made its London debut in 1986, the musical is currently the second longest running one in the West End history.


Her Majesty’s Theatre London that dates back to 1705; is one the second oldest theatre venue in London. The first theatre at the current site was built by Herbert Beerbohm Tree in 1897 while the task of designing was undertaken by Charles J. Phipps. A Grade II listed theatre by the English heritage, the venue has a capacity of 1,216 including its all four levels.

Tree founded his Royal Academy of Dramatic Art here in 1904 and continued to reside within the house until his death in 1917. Along with Tree’s successful productions, Her Majesty’s Theatre London also hosted shows from notable playwrights like George Bernard Shaw, J. M. Synge, Noël Coward and J. B. Priestley. The venue’s name has been influenced by the gender of the ruling monarch of Britain and has also hosted London premiers of Mozart’s acclaimed opera La clemenza di Tito, Così fan tutte and Don Giovanni.
