Helping Less Fortunate Children for Christmas.

(I-Newswire) January 8, 2007 - Thursday, December 21, 2006: Cares for Kids delivered approximately 100 pairs of brand new shoes and pairs of socks to a children's home for the Christmas holiday.

Terry Ballantini, Director of Cares for Kids, sought out an orphanage near his hometown in Centralia, IL, now obtained and referred to as Kids Hope United (KHU). KHU offers a variety of services for youth such as placement, prevention, and counseling to over 15,000 children. When Cares for Kids offered to donate the brand new shoes and socks to the children's home, KHU quickly accepted. "Thanks to Cares for Kids, we were able to provide new shoes and socks to 100 youth in our residential and community-based programs," said Nathalie Stephan, senior vice president for Kids Hope United. "The holidays are a time for giving back, and we were able to pass that generosity on to some of our community's most vulnerable citizens."

The home currently houses 19 children, ages 13 and above, and Cares for Kids delivered approximately 100 pairs of brand new shoes along with matching socks. The shoes were donated to Cares for Kids from the employees at Stanley Assembly Technologies in Ohio. Their desire was to provide a practical need to less fortunate children for the holidays, and reached out to Cares for Kids to fulfill those wishes.

Coincidentally, when Cares for Kids delivered the shoes and socks, KHU informed them that they were throwing their annual Christmas party with the children later that night, so the gifts came just in time for the party. Ballantini commented, "We felt blessed to be able to provide one more gift for each child for Christmas. Most of the children there had about three presents each under the tree, and the majority of the gifts had also been donated."
