Helping Hands, Open Hearts To Provide 300 Dallas Homeless with Hygiene Care Packages

Online, November 7, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Helping Hands, Open Hearts (HHOH) kicks off the Thanksgiving season of giving with their annual drive to collect care packages and donations for 300 hundred homeless in the Dallas area on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at Absinthe Lounge, 1409 S Lamar St, Dallas, TX 75215. This year's drive will be hosted by internet radio personalities DJ Taz and Ladiloxx of The Power Hour show.

Attendees to the drive at Absinthe are asked to donate $10.00, gift cards (Walmart, Sams, grocery stores, Target) or to bring donations of:

Travel size Dial soap, razors, toothbrushes, tooth paste, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, chips, snacks, Vienna Sausages, crackers, fruit cups and granola bars.

DJ Taz and Ladiloxx partnered with HHOH to help the organization reach its' goal. "We enjoy giving back to the community. We hope through our internet radio show, we can encourage people to attend the drive and make donations," said DJ Taz.

Rosalind Bryant, Founder of HHOH, has fed the homeless personally since age 8, using her own money. Over the years, Bryant wanted to reach more homeless, but realized this could only be done by starting an organization and with the help of volunteers. HHOH continues to seek donations for homeless in the Dallas area.

The monthly distributions take place on the 2nd Saturday in the parking lot of the Salvation Army, 5554 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas, TX 75235. "We have provided 25 care packages to needy families and service 150 to 200 homeless monthly," stated Bryant.

HHOH has provided a bed to one man in need, furniture to a family, a shopping spree for a family and a Back to School Drive. HHOH has partnered with The City of Dallas and Wow Dental.

The Power Hour show airs live every Thursday from 7 pm to 9 pm on Fishbowl Radio Network.
