Help AG To Address Regional DDOS And Employee Behaviour Related Security Concerns At Upcoming Security Spotlight Forum

Events to be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar in September 2012

Acknowledging employee access control and Distributed-denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks as two of the prime enterprise IT security concerns in the region, help AG, a leading information security services and solutions provider in the Middle East, is set to highlight the latest solutions for countering these threats at its upcoming Security Spotlight Forum. As with previous editions, this third quarter installment of the security specialist's hugely popular security event will feature presentations by four of help AG's vendor partners. These presentations will address the key themes of DDoS prevention, user-aware security infrastructure, IPv6, secure password management, two-factor authentication and Domain Name System (DNS) security.

DDoS attacks have been a highly effective tool utilized by cyber criminals to disrupt the online services of both government and private organizations across the Middle East. Financial institutions in particular have been victim to such attacks with severe business impact due to unavailability of key online services and loss of customer confidence.

Speaking about the forum, Stephan Berner, Managing Director at help AG said, "The purpose of the forum has always been to inform our customers about the various innovations in the market. At help AG, we constantly monitor the security trends in the Middle East, and each quarter we carefully select the key themes for the SSF events which best address these trends. This event is a great opportunity for our customers to hear first-hand from our vendor partners about the latest technologies and how they can benefit from their deployment."

All technology presentations will be supplemented by live demos showcasing the solutions from a practical point of view rather than just the theoretical to make sure that the knowledge sharing is much more efficient.

The third quarter SSF events will feature a presentation on 'Business Continuity Management System Requirements' by help AG's Dr. Angelika Plate who is the only ISO expert in the MEA region. "In June this year, the international standard ISO 22301 'Business Continuity Management System - Requirements' replaced the British standard BS 25999-2. The new ISO 22301 is the first international management system standard that follows the new ISO framework that all management systems have to adhere to now. The ISO framework helps to integrate different management system standards and the application of this framework will have a noticeable effect on the way ISO 22301 presents the requirements for business continuity. We will highlight the most important differences between ISO 2301 and BS 25999-2 at our Security Spotlight Forum," she said.

This Security Spotlight Forum will also feature solutions from F5, Infoblox, Juniper Networks and Mi-Token. Whist the first three are already well established in the region, Mi-Token is still rather new to the Middle East with its exclusive partnership with help AG starting in 2011. However, in response to heavy demand for advanced two-factor authentication, the vendor has invested in a local setup by opening their Dubai based branch.

help AG has been hosting the Security Spotlight Forum for over three years. The event has seen an extremely positive reception from IT decision makers across the region who are offered the unique opportunity of getting acquainted with the actual demo equipment from participating vendors.

The event will be held in Doha, Qatar on the 12th of September 2012, in Dubai on the 17th of September 2012 and in Abu Dhabi on the 18th of September 2012. Registration for the forum can be done at http://www.helpag.com/events.
