Helios Spine Cable™ Obtains Agency Certification

Wauregan, CT (I-Newswire) February 15, 2012 - C&M Corporation, a vertically integrated manufacturer of bulk cable, coil cords, and cable assemblies for the Renewable Energy market, recently achieved agency certification for their Helios Spine Cable™ product, the centerpiece of the company’s product platform for solar installations.

ETL recently completed the qualification process to UL Standard 9703 and UL 817 making the Helios Spine Cable™ one of the first solar related assemblies of this type to carry these agency certifications. As part of the ETL certification, the product was evaluated for both physical and electrical performance parameters such as temperature cycling, water spray, wet insulation resistance, temperature humidity, leakage current, crush resistance, current overload, and corrosion resistance.

Designed as a ‘plug and play’ solution for solar installations, this molded cable assembly product is pre-configured for the installation and comes fully connectorized and electrically tested. Unlike other options with a pre-determined number of drops, the Helios Spine Cable™ is manufactured to the specifics of the installation. By eliminating the need for field configuration, wire management, wire preparation, contacts, and junction boxes, the Helios Spine Cable™ offers a significant opportunity for cost reduction in the areas of materials and labor as well as improving installation time.
