Quite often, the contents of your tank are worth more than the tank itself. For that reason, it is of paramount importance that you protect it against opportunistic thieves. Oil tank thefts continue to soar in frequency and police across the nation are encouraging the public to stay alert and to take preventative measures wherever and however possible.

One way of ensuring that your tank and its content stay out of danger from fuel thieves is to secure your tank with the Harlequin Security Pack.

Introduced in May 2011, the security pack features the Spinsecure Lock and the Yale Alarm Lock. The Spinsecure Lock acts as a heavy duty security device on your tank's manhole lid or door. When unlocked, the Spinsecure can be removed by turning it in the same way as you would a tap. However, once secured with its magnetic key, the Spinsecure will spin freely - making it almost impossible to force open or remove.

In conjunction with the Spinsecure Lock, Harlequin have also launched the Yale Alarm Lock. This lock is armed with a 100db alarm, which sounds in the event of the lock being attacked or disturbed. A motion sensor can also be set, which will activate the alarm in the event of the lock being moved at all.

Designed for bunded tanks, the Yale Alarm Lock loops through your storage tank's fill and inspection points on the inner bund. This acts as a double security feature alongside the Spinsecure Lock and ensures that both the inside and outside of your tank is fully secured.

The presence of these devices will, quite often, be enough of a deterrent for any would-be oil thieves. However, in the unlikely event of your tank coming under attack you can rest assured that your oil has never been safer than when stored in a high security spec Harlequin tank!
