Hanworth Weir Ltd Exceeds $25k Charity Target

(I-Newswire) June 6, 2010 - After just 4 months of fundraising, Hanworth Weir Ltd employees have exceeded their original $25,000 USD target in aid of the Cars For Kids Foundation.

The clearing firm for global exchanges and markets, based in Chicago, took part in a variety of fundraising activities such as the Chicago Half-Marathon and It’s a knock-out and charity fun days to reach their goal.

Larry Cordova, Operations Manager at Hanworth Weir Ltd, commented:

“Hanworth Weir Ltd is thrilled to present this donation to the Cars For Kids Foundation, an organisation that uses tax deductible vehicle donations to provide funds to support children's causes via the Children's Memorial Hospital.

The foundation relies heavily on the generosity of donations to help maintain an exceptional quality of care. Although primarily funded by the state, they have to raise a further $1000,000 each year through charitable donations and fundraising activities, to continue the services they offer at a time when kids need it most.

Now they have reached the end of their pledge for the foundation, the finance company has announced their new primary charity for the forthcoming year as The Chicago Cystic Fibrosis Trust, pledging to raise a further $25,000 USD and continue their support within the local community.
