Hair Salon Offers Free Electric Vehicle Charge With Cut Or Color

Sterling Heights, MI (I-Newswire) November 29, 2010 - Verna Borsuck owner of Studio 9 Salon states “We are one of six charging stations in metro Detroit. We may be the first hair salon in the United States or possibly the world to have a commercially manufactured electric vehicle charging station.”
“When we were in the planning stages of our new building General Motors announced production of the Volt.” Says Verna Borsuck of Studio 9 Salon. Ms Borsuck states that the metro Detroit area is heavily dependant upon the auto industry. “We watched our business decline as gas prices went higher”
“Our oil dependency has a definite impact on the economy. More recently with the environmental impact that occurred in the Gulf of Mexico the move to electric vehicles is long overdue”.
Ms Borsuck feels that the new battery technology will also benefit the local economy. “We are in an automotive area that has been severely impacted. Many of our clients are tied directly to the automotive industry”.
"Our charging station is just one spoke in the wheel. I hope that our charging station will one day become obsolete. I would like to see batteries charged once a week opposed to every 50 miles”.
Verna Borsuck is the owner of Studio 9 Salon. The salon is located at 37717 Mound Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan. Her salon is open 7 days a week. Current plans call for a free EV charge for anyone with an electric vehicle.
