After the festive season has passed, the busy reservation period commences and the popular yacht choices and dates are soon full, as many clients dates are restricted by school holidays and work commitments. Perhaps you have sometimes wondered what happens to the Gulets duing the Winter months ……. Boat rental Turkey, After the season has come to a close around the end of October, the majority of gulets head to their winter dry dockyards to be lifted on land. The yachts not only undergo routine maintenance including; hull cleaning, painting and general repair work, mast and rigging checks, engine service, electrical service, checks to the tank and plumbing systems, batteries and electronics are removed, cleaned and serviced. Sails, tenting, cushions and exterior mattresses are all checked for any necessary repairs. Safety equipment and fire extinguishers all tested to ensure they are fully operational, in preparation for the forthcoming season. Plus, the essential harbour authority checks and formalities have to be undertaken. These dockyards are a hive of activity during the winter months, with so much to achieve before the next season arrives!

Yacht owners also utilise this time as an opportunity to invest in some upgrade and renovation work, ensuring guests have the benefit of comfortable surroundings, that also encompass all the latest innovations and technology. Cabins, bathrooms and salon maybe included. Every few years the teak deck needs additional maintenance, or indeed even replacing. The service tender also requires maintenance and its engine serviced. Perhaps also the purchase of new, or different sea toys and watersports additions.
Prior to the gulet being re-launched in Spring, the final touches will include several coats of paint and varnish, chrome polishing. Ultimately, the last coats of anti-fouling paint are applied to the hull immediately before the yacht's launch back into the sea.

Consequently, as the season approaches, gulets head to their base port for final harbour office safety checks, ahead of being issued with their new charter operating licences.
So whilst clients are busy preparing for their dream cruise, gulet owners are busy ensuring everything is prepared and in place to realise this dream!
