Guild Wars 2 Beta and Release Date Announced!

California (I-Newswire) February 10, 2012 - Guild Wars 2 will change the face of the MMORPG (Massively-Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) genre forever, but fans are getting anxious to get a chance to play it. Arenanet the makers of Guild Wars 2 announced its release for sometime in 2012, most likely somewhere in Q3. Before that though, players will get a chance to test the game for themselves. Recently a small amount of selected press were allowed into the Guild Wars 2 beta. Within the upcoming months players will be able to join in on the action. After the February press testing, players will be invited to weekend events to test specific parts of the game. Martin Keirstan had this to say,

"We will do Beta Weekend Events. Those of you who played Guild Wars might already be familiar with the concept. It means that many of you (like the blogpost says) will get a chance to participate in specific Events, but access won’t be unlimited – there will be some kind of selection criteria and the beta period will usually start on a Friday and end on the following Sunday."

With the beta tests and the release coming soon, hopefully we'll start to see more of the Player vs. Player world of Guild Wars 2.
