Grants for MA Residents to Switch to a Wood Pellet Heating System

Massachusetts residents may be eligible for grants up to $15,000 with the Commonwealth Small Pellet Boiler Pilot Grant Program.

Residents of Massachusetts who pay into MassCEC's Renewable Energy Trust Fund through their power company are eligible for up to $15,000.00 in grants toward having a small pellet boiler installed in their home or small business. You will need to act quickly in order to take advantage of the $475,000 in grant money.

"My company, Crowley Fuel, is in the process of getting involved with this program and welcome any interested customers or potential customers to contact me by phone or email to start the process for application," said Bob LaFlamme, owner of Crowley Fuel. "In the meantime, you can go to http:www.masscec.com/smallscalepellet to find out more about the program."

The intent of this grant is to help people who would like to use a pellet-fired central heating boiler with bulk storage for pellets to heat their homes. The pellet boilers that Crowley Fuel installs are made by the Pellergy Company in Vermont. These are very efficient, reasonably priced, and reliable heating systems. Pellergy is working with the Massachusetts Department of Energy Recources (DOER) and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) to gain approval as authorized equipment. They expect to have this completed within 30 days.
