Graduate Theological Foundation Faculty Member Colón Named Princeton Visiting Scholar
Graduate Theological Foundation faculty member The Rev. Fr. Jorge R. Colón León has been named as a Visiting Scholar at Princeton Theological Seminary (PTS) for summer 2013.
Mishawaka, Indiana (I-Newswire) January 28, 2013 - Graduate Theological Foundation faculty member The Rev. Fr. Jorge R. Colón León has been named as a Visiting Scholar at Princeton Theological Seminary (PTS) for summer 2013. Colón is a longtime member of the GTF educational staff, serving as Fellow and François-Xavier Durrwell, C.Ss.R., Professor of Religious Studies.
The PTS Visiting Scholars Program is designed for mature scholars who wish to engage in in-depth research.
A native of Puerto Rico, Colón studied at the Redemptorist College Seminary and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy after taking his vows as a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer in 1972.
He also studied at Mount St. Alphonsus Seminary, earning Master of Religious Education and Master of Divinity degrees. After being ordained as a Redemptorist priest in 1977, Colón studied at the Gregorian University in Rome, earning the Licentiate in Sacred Theology and a Doctorate of Sacred Theology. He received his Ph.D. in Theology from GTF in 2007.
Colón has taught and lectured all over the world, and is the author of 13 scholarly books. He has helped numerous doctoral candidates write, defend and publish their dissertations at GTF and other theological institutions.
