CHARLESTON, SC – NYPD (New York Pizza Development) Pizza opens its doors in March 2006 and will give area residents a taste of authentic New York style pizza. The neighborhood pizzeria is located at 1055 Highway 41, Suite 100, on the corner of US 17 South and South Carolina 41, behind the CVS.
Co-Owner Matthew Yeates said, “NYPD Pizza brings a slice of New York to our hometown.” This marks the opening of South Carolina’s first NYPD Pizza Metro Unit franchise. Owners Matthew and Chris Yeates plan to open more locations in the future.
NYPD Pizza offers the highest quality pizza products and Italian restaurant menu items made of all the freshest ingredients. All of the pizzas are hand-tossed, made with NYPD Pizza’s own unique pizza dough, high quality 100% cheese, and NYPD’s own specially spiced tomato sauce, finished with fresh toppings, and baked in NYPD Pizza’s own special brick oven. Other menu items include delicious appetizers, fresh salads, cheesy calzones, meaty stromboli, specialty hot hero sandwiches and a full line of mouth watering deserts. Established in 1996 and headquartered in Orlando, FL, New York Pizza Development, LLC is home of the “authentic” New York style pizza. Partners Paul Russo and Lou Pearlman are native New Yorkers from Bayside, Queens with a goal to bring real New York pie nationwide. The Franchise Division, launched in January 2004, has 30 units sold with 20 scheduled to open in 2006. NYPD Restaurants currently offer two distinctive types of franchises, the Metro Unit that is an express/delivery/takeout with a limited menu and the Precinct that is the traditional restaurant with full service and full menu. There is a third franchise underway that is called the Headquarters, slated for 2007, that will combine full service and full bar with entertainment.
