Pam Jenkins at fashion's top table

Pam Jenkins took to the stage again last night in London at the ‘oscars’ for the UK shoe industry, Drapers Footwear Awards 2008.

Winning highly commended in the Women’s Footwear Retailer of the Year 2008 category, the store was also runner up as Best New Store in last year’s award.

Nestled behind Edinburgh’s elegant George Street, perched on the cobbles of Thistle Street, Pam Jenkins is a divine haven for shoe and bag lovers, not only in Scotland but across the UK.

Pam Robson opened Pam Jenkins in August 2004, spotting a gap in the market for an independent store selling high end designer shoes and accessories.

Since then Pam has personally served thousands of women, from teenagers to octogenarians who come to the shop seeking the world’s finest shoes and accessories.

Each season Pam brings together a unique collection, rarely seen under one roof, from the world’s top designers including Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Rupert Sanderson and Chloe.

Just five minutes from Harvey Nichols and opposite the legendary Jane Davidson, Pam Jenkins started a trend that has seen Thistle Street blossom into Edinburgh’s most stylish street for fashion shopping.

Offering a mix of fashionable, elegant and wearable shoes plus edgy ‘foot statements’ Pam Jenkins is a ‘must-go’ for fashion insiders.

Pam Robson, owner of Pam Jenkins says: “All our wonderful customers leave the shop saying: ‘lovely shoes and I love the shop’. Now Drapers says so too! These awards are the highest accolade in the footwear fashion industry and we are overwhelmed to be here for a second year. Not even Edinburgh’s cobbles are a match for our heels!”

Christian Louboutin remains the flagship brand of Pam Jenkins and this summer she will stock 27 styles, one of the biggest offerings outside London. The only Kate Spade shoe stockist in the UK, each year Pam chooses one or two new designers to add to her collection.

Gianvito Rossi and Rodo bags were added for 07/08 and new for 08/09 are shoes by Brian Atwood and umbrellas by Guy de Jean.

As Scotland’s leading independent designer shoe shop, Pam Jenkins has a powerful reputation, securing the potent backing of the world’s most glamorous luxury brands.
