Gold medalists from the U. S. women's national tackle football team gather in NYC for the 2014 Super Bowl. The team is fresh off their victory at the 2013 IFAF Women's World Championship in Finland.
Online, January 27, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Gold medalists from the United States women's national tackle football team are gathering in New York City for the historic 2014 Super Bowl championship. The women's national football team is comprised of 45 of the best female tackle football players in the United States. In July of 2013, the members of Team USA defeated multiple countries to win the gold medal in the IFAF Women's World Championship held in Finland.
After their international victory, the U.S. women's football team was honored in DC for their gold medal win by the White House Council on Women and Girls. The event was attended by Executive Director, Tina Tchen, Deputy Director, Avra Siegel, and a host of other White House representatives including the liaison to Michelle Obama's "Let's
Move!" initiative.
In a continuation of their roles as ambassadors of women's football, 2-time gold medal winner and entrepreneur, Adrienne Smith, has launched Gridiron Queendom, a company dedicated to promoting and increasing the participation of women and girls in football.
