Beijing (I-Newswire) November 25, 2011 - GAC is proud to launch the first blog, story, photo and video contest, giving current and past students the chance to share their experiences of studying in China. By submitting their memories of their time in Beijing, participants are in with the chance to win Amazon and iTunes gift vouchers.

Are you already writing a blog for friends and family back home, or thinking of starting one? Let us link to you! Help prospective participants through your words and images.

We need from you:

Your blog URL name
Include a photo that illustrates your story
Your hometown, state, and name of your host city and country.

Or why not submit a story; what are you discovering China – about the local culture, people, and yourself? How have your perspectives changed? We don’t want a typical essay, but thoughts about your experience that will encourage others to take the bold step you did. The best stories are full of details of what you see, hear, feel, and experience abroad.

We need from you:

Get creative – tell your story in an essay, a few paragraphs, a journal entry, or a poem
Include a photo that illustrates your story

How about using photos which capture the essence of your experience overseas? Known monuments and scenes of natural beauty are great subjects-but so are moments you observed, secret places you found, and candid snaps of your host family and friends. We especially love pictures taken in the city or town you lived in. Show us how you immersed yourself in the culture at school, at home, or in the community.

We need from you:

Photos taken from a 4 mega pixel camera or higher
Photos with a resolution of 300 dpi or higher
Three photos maximum
Two-sentence description of the photo including where it was taken

Or tell your story in video. Do you have a video of a moment during your time abroad that says it all? Give us insight into the sights, sounds, people, and culture of your host country in a short clip. What is the experience of studying abroad really like?

We need from you:

A short video clip or essay no longer than four minutes
A two-three sentence description introducing the scene, event, and people showcased
Win a great prize!

First place winner receives a $100 gift to Amazon.com

Second and Third Place Runner Ups receive $50 gift certificates to iTunes

Deadlines:

December 1st, however we encourage you to submit your entries throughout the semester. You can submit multiple entries!
Judging for the contest and winners will be announced by December 31st!

The best in each category will be showcased on our website and entered to win a travel voucher for your next trip abroad.
