(I-Newswire) March 9, 2010 - Los Angeles, California – (04 March 2010) – OpticFit, the leading provider of technology solutions, announced that Globe Communications is employing OpticFit’s optical transceivers as part of its nationwide high-speed optical network expansion project.

OpticFit is providing Cisco compatible fiber channels and SFP transceivers for Globe’s nationwide optical network. It is in its second year of a three-year fiber optics provider agreement with Globe Communications. Globe, a leading telecommunications provider, strives to simplify and remove obstacles in communications technology by creating and delivering products that are relevant to its customers.

The Los Angeles based fiber optics provider has already developed and installed a unique Cisco compatible fiber channels and SFP transceivers for Globe’s nationwide optical network, enabling the telecommunications provider to transform and enrich lives through communications by reaching out to places that never had telecommunications technology before.

The uniquely designed Cisco compatible fiber channels and SFP transceivers are used for both tele-communication and data usage in the following categories: 850 nm 550m MMF (SX), 1310 nm 10km SMF (LX), 1550 nm, 80 km (ZX), 120 km (EX), and DWDM. They fit into a network device, switch, or routers simplifying optical networking while providing the scalability and in-service expansion Globe requires. These customized fiber optics transceivers can effortlessly expand Globe’s optical network without disrupting existing services to bring their customers closer to what matters to them most.

Peter Dulay, CEO and Director of OpticFit said, “We have developed unique fiber optics transceivers specifically for Globe Communications. Our fiber channels and SFP transceivers scales very efficiently, starting with as few as four wavelengths and increasing up to 64 wavelengths per fiber with data transmission speeds of up to 10 Gbps per wavelength. They also allow several signals to be aggregated into a higher-rate signal for maximum wavelength efficiency. This allows maximum data transmission even in the peak hours.”

“We are very positive that we have employed OpticFit to supply our fiber optics needs to meet our competitive demand for high quality optical transceivers. This three-year partnership provides end to end optical network management solutions for the country,” said Michael Mangers, project head of Globe.

With this three-year expansion project, OpticFit looks forward to a great and successful partnership with Globe Communications.
