Vic (Barcelona). - Girbau S.A. , one of the world leaders in machinery for the industrial laundry market, aims to expand its market share on the American continent by making inroads into new sectors such as laundries with high production requirements.
The company's new management team, led by the second generation of the Girbau family, is committed to growth in Latin America, the United States and Canada by means of three major strategic lines: entry into businesses with large laundry production needs, such as hotel chains or industrial laundries; replacing low-speed washing machines with the high-speed washers that the group has highly consolidated in other continents; and expanding and improving after-sales services by encouraging a closer relationship with the customer.
This is the message that the Girbau management launched before the 100 attendees at the first convention that brought together the group's sales network in the American continent in Bogota from June 4th to 6th.
The Girbau Group has arranged for the new strategy to coincide with the launch of a new ironing system, which improves its portfolio of products for large production laundries, and with the consolidation of its line of high-speed Series 6 industrial washing machines.
The Catalan company, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary, is also committed to improving and expanding its after-sales service, taking advantage of the extensive network of technical and commercial services that it has worldwide that gives it a major competitive advantage in terms of speed and efficiency, to a closer relationship with the customer and to the levels of professionalism that the teams have been attaining. In many cases, the arrival of a new generation in Girbau's technical and commercial network has coincided with the arrival of a new generation in the group's management.
The managing director of Girbau, Mercè Girbau insisted in her speech to the convention that "the group has to continue focusing its efforts on a close customer service. From their beginnings with a small laundry until they grow and need a large laundry, Girbau will have to remain at the side of its customers, growing with them, providing them with the product and service they need, becoming their partner".

Celebration of the 50th anniversary in Cuba
The same message for renewal was transmitted in Cuba, the first Girbau subsidiary to celebrate the group's 50th anniversary. Girbau Cuba brought together the heads of the major hotel chains and financial institutions on the island, as well as representatives of the Spanish embassy and various Cuban organisations.
During 2010 the celebrations of 50 years of Girbau will be repeated in different parts of the world.
