GEARS Continue Tour After Crash With Semi-Truck On I95
Miami-based hard rocking band GEARS will continue touring after their tour van was totaled by a tractor-trailer truck on I-95, just north of Savannah, GA.
Online, June 7, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The Miami based hard rocking band GEARS narrowly escaped disaster last Tuesday night, June 3, when their tour van was totaled after being struck by a semi tractor trailer truck on I 95, just north of Savannah, GA. Band members Eli Parker, Jimmy Wooten, Tom Herres and Trip Six were en route to Asbury Park, NJ, from Miami, FL, as part of their "Set In Motion" CD Release Tour. The four rockers sustained non life threatening injuries, however, the rental trailer, much of their equipment & personal belongings, in addition to the van, were damaged beyond repair.
Gears, formed earlier this year by Parker, released their debut CD "Set In Motion" (produced by Corey Lowery) just days before the crash. The group had recently finished a three show run in Florida and was traveling to the East Coast for their show at The Saint in NJ. Despite the major setback, the determined foursome have truly given new meaning to the phrase "the show must go on." Guitarist and founder Eli Parker explains "We are a little shaken, bruised and sore but definitely not beaten. It takes more than getting hit by a semi truck to stop us. It's very difficult to see the pictures of the crash but somehow we managed to walk away and that means we are supposed to be here, we owe it to our fans."
