Gas Sampling System from SEMI-GAS® Systems Automates Sampling Process

Malvern, PA (I-Newswire) September 14, 2012 - SEMI-GAS® Systems, a division of Applied Energy Systems, Inc, and a manufacturer of industry-leading ultra-high purity gas source and distribution systems, now offers an automatic gas sampling system that eliminates operator touch time while certifying cylinders of blended gas mixtures. The Samplex™, a gas sampling system from SEMI-GAS® Systems’ Xturion™ product line, saves time and money as well as eliminates human error while sampling any gases that can be detected using a Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) analyzer.

Samplex is ideal for EPA protocol analysis and for gas suppliers and gas companies that make EPA approved blended mixtures. The new automated sampling system enables more efficient sampling and certification of cylinders, ensuring that certain EPA specifications and requirements, like the EPA Traceability Protocol for Assay and Certification of Compressed Gas Calibration Standards, are being met. Samplex confirms the accuracy of constituent gases within a gas mixture, enables batch analysis, and can display up to six samples.

Samplex features a workstation PC with LabView interface and a color touch screen controller. The system is capable of comparative ratio analysis in parts per million (PPM) and parts per billion (PPB) of multiple gases. Reports and sample certificates are automatically generated by the sampling system. Samplex is designed to integrate seamlessly with an MKS MultiGas FTIR analyzer.

The unit has a welded 12 gage steel mounting frame and 16 gage steel gray powder painted enclosure. It is 70 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 31 inches deep with a steel pull-out shelf for a mounted analyzer. A wireless bar code scanner for cylinder identification is also included. Ethernet communications are also available.
