Gardere Welcomes Securities Litigator Todd Murray in Dallas

Online, February 4, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is pleased to announce the addition of respected Dallas securities litigator Todd A. Murray as a partner in the Firm's Trial Group.

Mr. Murray focuses his practice on securities litigation; director and officer fiduciary duty and corporate governance disputes; complex accounting and financial litigation; and energy-related matters. He joins the Firm from Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal LLP, where he served as the practice chair of the firm's Securities and Director and Officer Litigation Practice.

A 1995 cum laude graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, Mr. Murray has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in addition to serving as lead and secondary trial counsel in numerous cases. He has represented clients in all aspects of complex business litigation in federal, state and county courts across the country and defended securities fraud class actions against issuers, officers, directors and accounting firms. He also has litigated shareholder derivative actions, representing the special litigation committee, the dissident shareholder, the target company and the alleged interested directors. Mr. Murray has defended accounting malpractice claims against "Big 4" accounting firms, and he has represented corporate officers and other individuals in investigations and enforcement actions by the Securities and Exchange Commission, self-regulatory organizations, and the Department of Justice.
