Gardenbird.co.uk Experience Increased Sales On Winter Feeding Products
Leyland based supplier of bird feeding products and accessories, Gardenbird.co.uk, experienced a substantial increase in sales on their winter feeding ranges.
Leicester (I-Newswire) February 15, 2013 - During the winter many birds have migrated away, almost half of the population of British birds, in fact. Yet those who remain require substantially increased levels of nutrition and sustenance in order to survive the inhospitably cold months. As a result of consumers seeking to better support their garden birds over winter, Gardenbird.co.uk have experienced increased sales of winter feeding products.
A customer service representative for the company was available to comment on their enhanced trade over the winter period. “We’ve seen a lot of interest in suet and Niger seeds, particularly. They’re both very high in calories for their mass, and prove to be excellent solutions for keeping birds insulated and fed over the course of the hostile winter months. Niger is traditionally better for the various breeds of Finch, though any larger birds will happily eat it during the winter. Suet is melted and reformed lamb or beef fat, usually moulded into cake form. Even small birds can eat slivers of this, and it proves quite effective at feeding any varieties of bird which happen to frequent domestic gardens over winter. We’ve seen huge sales on both of these products, though expect them to relax shortly as the weather returns to normal. We’ll certainly be increasing stock for 2013-14.”
Suet is often noted for its flexibility as a food source. It’s one of the highest calorie food sources which birds will happily eat, and despite being entirely fat can be melded with other products to create a more nutritious meal. Enthusiasts will often mix in peanuts or mealworms to enhance the protein content of the meal, and keep birds substantially better fed for winter.
Garden Bird are suppliers of bird feed and feeding accessories, operating from the heart of Leyland. They’ve long supplied customers with an incredibly wide variety of bird feeds, from year-round standbys like peanuts to seasonal bestsellers like Niger seeds and suet.
