The online retailer of wildlife products, GardenBird.co.uk, announced today the latest bird watching walk taking place at the Anglian Birdwatching Centre on the 29th of June.
Leyland (I-Newswire) June 19, 2012 - Online retailer of wildlife products, GardenBird.co.uk, today announced the latest bird watching walk to be taking place at the Anglian Birdwatching Centre.
The Anglian Birdwatching Centre hosts several birdwatching walks throughout the year. The next one of these will be on Friday the 29th June. Led by the bird recorder of the Rutland Natural History Society, Tim Mitcham, these walks explore the reserve which contains over 20,000 waterfowl.
The Anglian Birdwatching Centre is located in Rutland and contains 9 miles of lagoons along the shoreline of the Rutland Water Reservoir. There are 31 bird watching hides throughout the nature reserve which allow ample space for bird watchers to use as they look out for the many species living in the reserve.
Partnered with the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust, the reserve has 1000 acres within which there are several trails for guides to take visitors on bird watching walks. These walks explore intimate areas of the reserve that are rarely disturbed, as the walks are spaced well apart so as not to disturb the wildlife living there.
The reserve hosts the Rutland Osprey Project. The project has worked to attract Ospreys to the reserve and have them nest there year upon year in a safe environment where bird watchers can observe them from a distance. There are several pairs of Ospreys occupying the reserve which have been seen fishing in the spring to feed their young.
Thanks to the diverse range of wildlife living within the reserve there is plenty for visitors to see when they attend a bird watching walk. The Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre staff encourage taking feed out to attract the birds, and regularly fill up feeders in order to bring birds into the view of the hides.
GardenBird.co.uk provides wildlife products to customers around the UK. They have a wide range of bird feed and feeders designed for specific species, in order to attract particular kinds of birds. The reserve would provide these different feeds in order for visitors to attract smaller birds to their location on bird watching walks.
