The architectural firm of Gallo Herbert Lebolo expects a November 2010 groundbreaking for a 24,000 square-foot Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in Tallahassee. LEED Silver Certification is being sought for the building.

Tallahassee (I-Newswire) October 19, 2010 - LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need for an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. It promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.
“The modern ICE building represents new thinking in the design and building of government facilities,” said Brian P. Herbert, AIA, LEED AP, president of Deerfield Beach-based Gallo Herbert Lebolo. “ LEED promotes cleaner, modern architectural designs, and promotes cutting-edge energy efficiency and sustainable concepts.
The building will also be able to withstand a powerful hurricane. Tilt wall construction will enable the building to withstand a Category-4 hurricane with sustained wind of up to 155 miles-per-hour, Herbert said.
Gallo Herbert Lebolo, formerly known as Gallo Architects & Development Consultants, Inc. (GADC) was founded in 1988 by William J. Gallo, AIA. In its 22 years of existence the firm has gone through an architectural evolution, from post modernism, through constructivism to the current development of green building design and commissioning.
