(New York) Gallery Cantelmo is proud to present an exhibition featuring the photography of 6 successful professional Japanese photographers. This exhibit features the incomparable PICTRAN inkjet paper sold exclusively by Brewer Cantelmo in New York. PICTRAN kyokushi, metal, baryta, and crystal papers and films are made with a glass powder
coating which maximizes the look and feel of inkjet printing. The Digital Samurai have been pioneers utilizing this paper in an impressive variety of styles and media.

Maki Kawai – Color Intersections. Kawai captures the pleasant feeling when colors intersect because it is such a unique experience. It will never be repeated precisely in nature – just like ink penetration varies slightly every time. Kawai has held many exhibitions in Japan and is a member of Japan Photographer's Association.

Tetsuro Shimizu – Tokyo Jungle Crows. To Shimizu, the jungle crows are the “incarnation of the sun” and provide inspiration not only for him, but also for many Japanese historians. Struggling to survive in the city, this exhibit shows the modern version of these birds that live between life and death in the concrete jungle.

Naoyuki Toyoda – The Universe Under the Sea. Toyoda has developed great interest in taking photos in the oceans surrounding Japan. He captures the beauty of things living under water as they have developed their own shapes and unique living styles. This is his first exhibition in New York.

Junichi Takahashi – The Introspection. Takahashi has lived in New York for nearly 18 years and has offices in both New York and Tokyo. His shooting trips have taken him to Peru, Nepal, South Africa, Ireland, Kenya, England, Turkey, Greece and more. This exhibit explores the quest to define the human body.

Izumi Hirota – Ice and Fire. Hirota's photography focuses on both the movement of trains and the atmosphere surrounding the tracks and stations. From experiencing tracks in all seasons and all climates, he is able to portray the deep impressions that are made on him through his work.

Shigeru Yoshida – Ruins in Angkor Wat. Yoshida has been photographing the largest trees in the world for over 20 years. The images I this exhibit are from Angkor Wat, This is the first exhibition in New York, but not the first time showing with the Digital Samurai.
