Fremont College Announces a New Multimedia Design Degree Program

Fremont College Announces Accelerated Fashion Multimedia and Multimedia Design Degree Programs with CS6 Certification in 15 Months

Fremont College in Los Angeles and Cerritos, California announced today that it will offer two new accelerated online and blended learning associate degree programs in Multimedia Design and Fashion Multimedia Design, starting Spring2013term on March 18.

These two innovative programs combine today's new career opportunities in multimedia as well as options in the ever-changing fashion industry. Students can now earn an AA degree in Multimedia Design in 15 months by taking courses 100% online or via blended learning, where they meet in person once a week at the Los Angeles or Cerritos campus.

Students will receive access to Adobe's industry-standard CS6 software as part of their degree program and will be trained in Adobe Creative Suite software applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and Dreamweaver, equipping them with the skills to produce digital images, video clips, motion graphics, and websites.Graduates will be prepared for careers as graphic designers, web designers, content developers, advertising associates, production artists, and other positions.

The fashion emphasis offers courses in computer pattern drafting, draping, garment construction, fashion collections, and fashion show preparation.Graduates of the Fashion Multimedia program will have the necessary training to enter a career as a fashion designer, visual merchandiser, design entrepreneur, or production assistant. Graduates of the both programs will also have the opportunity to pass Adobe Certified Expert exams in Photoshop and Illustrator, validating their professional skills to the employment community.

Fremont College employs a unique teaching methodology, Professional Action Learning(PAL),developed by its Chancellor, Dr. Sabrina Kay. PAL allows students in the online Multimedia Design program to collaborate with other students utilizing the same technologies and communication methods that employees use in today's workplace.
