Simply put, Push America serves people with disabilities. They were founded on the premise that people with disabilities are no different than people without disabilities. It's the organization's goal to spread this message.

Denver (I-Newswire) July 5, 2011 - – Two teams of cyclists participating in the annual Journey of Hope, presented by KRG Capital, Case Logic, and Thule, will arrive in Denver as part of a nine-week, 3,775-mile cycling event across the country to raise funds and awareness for people with disabilities.

At 10:30 a.m., Tuesday July 5th, the Journey of Hope North and TransAmerica teams will arrive at and tour Invesco Field. Following lunch at the field the cyclist will prepare for their police escort to the State Capitol Building where they will be greeted by R.D. Sewald, Deputy Director of Legislative Services, on the behalf of Governor Hickenlooper. The following day, Wednesday July 6th, the teams will visit the new headquarters of KRG Capital and have breakfast. Later at 5:30 p.m., the teams will be participating in Pedals for Pennies at City Park Pavilion. This event will be both a fundraiser for Special Olympics of Colorado and a Friendship Visit. Friendship visits are events where team members and people with disabilities participate in activities that everyone can enjoy.

Journey of Hope is a program of Push America, the national philanthropy of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, which raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope team consists of men from Pi Kappa Phi chapters across the country. The team will cycle an average of 75 miles per day, beginning in San Francisco and Seattle and ending in Washington, D.C. on August 13.

For the team, the real journey will not be on a bike, but spending time with the people for whom they are riding. The Journey of Hope team members will spend every afternoon with people with disabilities in many different community events and activities. These men are striving for community inclusion of people with disabilities and are helping to break the barriers of society that keep people of all abilities from living life to the fullest.
