Francis Stevens Education Campus Collects Canned Goods for Needy Families

Students and faculty members of Francis Stevens Education Campus amalgamate with the Acacia Group of City Year to collect non-perishable items for needy families.

DCPS PS-8 Francis Stevens Education Campus' Parent Teacher Association and The Acacia Group of City Year, an organization that unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service that affords youth the necessary skills and opportunities to change the world, are sponsoring a canned food drive for families who are without, this holiday season. Donations will be given to the Capital Area Food Bank as well as families in the broader Washington DC community.

"We just want to make sure no one goes hungry this holiday season." says Desiree McCoy, FSEC-PTA President and PCAT Parent Liaison.

Francis Stevens Education Campus invites any persons wishing to donate non-perishable items to deliver them to the Francis-Stevens campus, located in Foggy Bottom Circle. Collection bins have been set up in the main foyer of the school for the convenience of community-deliveries. Members of the school staff are available to help anyone with inquiries as they pertain to the food drive.
