Fourth Monkey's ‘Year Of The Monkey’ Repertory Company Launch Their First Season Of Plays Critically acclaimed Fourth Monkey’s Year of the Monkey project is a contemporary Rep Theatre Company and combined training programme with a difference

London (I-Newswire) August 4, 2011 - Critically acclaimed Theatre Company Fourth Monkey’s Year of the Monkey project is a contemporary Rep Theatre Company and training programme with a difference.

Comprising of a company of 27 actors, Fourth Monkey launches it’s first rep season with productions of Timberlake Wertenbaker’s ‘The Love of the Nightingale’, Brecht’s ‘The Threepenny Opera’ and Sophocles ‘Antigone’. Directed by a team of established directors (Chris Hislop, Hannah Kaye and Natalie Katsou) and Produced by Fourth Monkey. The productions perform in rep from 5th-23rd October at Theatro Technis, 26 Crowndale Road, Camden, NW1 1TT. A second season of three plays also goes in to production in the New Year for a run at the same venue between 29th February- 18th March 2012.

Casting Director Kerrie Mailey said of the project; “Year of the Monkey is unique. It offers immediate performance experience on the professional stage, combined with immersive, thorough and liberating training.”

Incorporating training in the following: Bikram Yoga, Alexander Technique, Voice, Accent Work, Laban, Stage Combat, Solo and Group Singing, Movement, Short Film project, Shakespeare, Clown, Drama School Audition Prep, Casting Director workshops and Industry Q & A’s and more… with the year-long project concluding at the Edinburgh Festival 2012 with another season of plays in which the company will present a total of 6 new pieces, again in repertory.

This original project offers the actor the opportunity to perform whilst also undertaking a training and career development programme.

Whether a gap year between education establishments or as a year-long, extended learning and development course once in the industry, the Year of the Monkey provides the young actor with a unique and specially tailored training opportunity with a difference.

The first season of plays launches a year of exciting and evocative productions with further productions to follow.
