Cambridge Classic Ford Offers Ford’s New Terrain Management System on 2012 Ford Explorers.

Zanesville, OH (I-Newswire) January 27, 2012 - Cambridge Classic Ford is proud to offer the latest Ford technologies on their vehicle lineup. One of these technologies, the Ford Terrain Management System, helps four-wheel drive vehicles easily shift between different driving conditions.

Ford’s Terrain Management System offers options for four different surface conditions to help optimize the driving experience. The system controls engine, transmission, and brake control systems to help match the conditions of the surface. The condition is selected by simply adjusting the dial to the correct setting. When conditions change, the dial can easily be moved to optimize driving on the new surface.

The first setting, Normal, biases torque to the front wheels and sends it to the rear only as needed. The second setting, Mud/Ruts takes the throttle into a more aggressive mode, increases engine torque sent to the rear wheels, limits upshifting, and desensitizes stability control to allow the tires to spin as necessary. The next setting, Sand, allows the wheels to spin aggressively by throwing maxiumum torque to the wheels, placing the transmission in lower gears for as long as possible. Finally, the Grass/Gravel/Snow setting places the throttle in a setting that minimizes wheelslip.

The new Terrain Management System is currently available on the 2012 Explorer. To check out new Explorer inventory, visit http://cambridgeclassicford.com/New-Inventory.aspx.
