FORCAM Presents Itself Successfully At The Largest Manufacturing Technology Show In The Western Hemisphere

CEO Gruber speaks at event of the Association For Manufacturing Technology

FORCAM's first appearance at the largest U.S. trade fair for manufacturing technology, the 29th International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago, was a great success. Franz Gruber, CEO of FORCAM, the leader in Shop Floor Management technology, mentioned that: "Soon after the founding of our U.S. subsidiary in May, we were able to successfully present our company before a broad industry audience. After some 200 interviews, we were able to arrange more than two dozen hopeful appointments with reputable companies."

As a highlight of FORCAM's success, Franz Gruber had been nominated as conference speaker at IMTS, which is sponsored by the Association For Manufacturing Technology (AMT). The topic presented by Franz Gruber under the motto 'Global Automation & Manufacturing Summit' on the third day (September 12) of the fair: How to successfully integrate the operators' knowledge into a modern shop floor management.

The technological leadership of FORCAM aroused strong interest regarding its user-friendly capability to visualize large-scale shop floor production data for factory personnel, and then to feed the data web-based in real time to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) level. Franz Gruber: "We could convince our prospects as our shop floor solution provides transparent performance data of machines and benchmarks the productivity of entire factories for the management. Thrilling for the international visitors was our Unicode, i.e. the ability of our technology to speak in any language."

In the United States, FORCAM has supported customers from diverse industrial sectors for years, including U.S. corporations such as Joy Global and also German-based companies with facilities in the U.S.. In May this year, FORCAM founded the U.S. subsidiary FORCAM Inc. based in Cincinnati, Ohio. In Cincinnati, FORCAM also cooperates with the Center for Intelligent Maintenance Systems at the University of Cincinnati, directed by Professor Jay Lee.

The rising global energy and commodity prices have led to the keen interest in efficient shop floor management of industrial facilities and related intelligent software solutions. Only through sustainable resource efficiency, companies can compete internationally. With an outstanding software architecture and proven technology like FORCAM's Factory Framework™, wastes and errors on the shop floor are identified in real time and forever eliminated.

In addition, the FORCAM solution closes the gap between production (Shop Floor) and planning (Top Floor). With FORCAM's solution offering, the shop and top floors can now communicate in the same language at the IT level and share needed information. With this event-driven technology, new manufacturing orders are automatically transferred to the work order list on terminal screens in the factory. In turn, factory workers confirm their operations in the system and their data is spontaneously fed in real time into the enterprise resource planning.

About the IMTS: The 2012 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) was held from September 10-15 in Chicago with almost 100,000 visitors and 1,800 exhibitors from 116 countries. The IMTS is one of the largest industry trade shows in the world. The event is sponsored by AMT - The Association For Manufacturing Technology and is held every two years in Chicago. For the first time, the IMTS took place jointly with the "Industrial Automation North America" (IANA), the first industry trade show of Deutsche Messe (German Trade Fair) in the U.S. market. The German exhibition complemented the IMTS program focussing on machine tools, metalworking and precision manufacturing. www.imts.com, www.amtonline.org
