Forbes Names Goodwill "Inspiring"

Goodwill has been named one of America's top 25 inspirational companies this year by Forbes.

Goodwill has been named one of America's top 25 inspirational companies this year by Forbes. The list was based on results from Performance Inspired, Inc., which surveyed 2,175 consumers from around the nation to identify the "most inspiring companies". The consumers responded by sharing which five companies they found most influential and why.

"Consumers are really appreciative of the Goodwill retail stores and the perceived feel-good value they are bringing to local communities," said Terry Barber, chief inspiration officer of Performance Inspired, Inc.

When consumers are inspired by a company they will recommend it to friends and family, become loyal supporters and share their experience with others. Additionally they are three- quarters more likely to spend money with a company that inspires them than one that does not.

"We're excited about this success for Goodwill and what that means for our cause," said Dr. Lewis Chartock, president and CEO of MERS/Goodwill. "It's wonderful to see that we're making an impact on our local community."

Goodwill is a new comer to the top 25 list, but has been inspiring the public with its contributions to the surrounding communities for many years. Goodwill strives to give back to the community by providing employment and vocational rehabilitation services to those in need and helping them to live more independently.
