First Giveaway

(I-Newswire) July 2, 2009 - Having a giveaway is a great way to bring traffic to your website. So, you have a website, and made post about your great giveaway you are having. You are all excited, and expecting that you will have 100 people visiting your site right away. Well, this isn't exactly the case. You have to promote your first giveaway for people to know about it. So you tell you friends on Facebook, which could be around 300 people, but none of them really enter. Not everyone is interested in giveaways, so you have to target the right kind of people.

There are many websites out there that will allow website owners and other people who find some great giveaways to post their giveaways on their site. There are probably 1000's of these sites. So make sure you pick the websites you want to submit to wisely. You could spend more time submitting your giveaway then it took you to make your website.

For your first giveaway it's hard to know how long to make the giveaway last. Since it will be the first giveaway you are hosing, it's ok to make it a little bit longer than any subsequent giveaways. I would say a month is an ok time period. In a months time, you should get some decent traffic to your site.

If you plan on hosting regular giveaways, also make sure to make subscribing to your newsletter a way to enter the giveaway. This way, your new visitor and subscriber will know the next time you have a giveaway, or promotion, or whatever else you want to tell all your readers.
