Talent in the film industry flooded an eclectic business establishment in Charleston, SC Wednesday night with big names such as Michael Givens and Marti Melville.

Charleston, SC (I-Newswire) November 20, 2011 - Wednesday evening welcomed a host of talent from the film industry, gathered at Charleston’s Social Restaurant and Wine Bar located on East Bay street. The event is only examples of the many ways Charleston, SC has established itself as a hub for media projects. Filmmakers and talent alike are gravitating to the South to take advantages of the many opportunities and alluring appeal the southern states have to offer.

Big names in the industry rubbed shoulders on Wednesday night in the eclectic setting on Bay Street as new talented mixed with seasoned experience. Among those newest to Charleston’s film industry is author, Marti Melville who was seen mingling with mega talent, Michael Given and Charleston’s International Film Festival director Summer Spooner. Melville has written a series of novels flavored with the adventures of salty pirates. Recently noticed by the film industry, Melville’s first novel is slated for a TV series soon to be produced.

“We anticipate an exciting year for 2012 as Midnight Omen the series develops.” – Mark Busch

“This has been an exciting evening and wonderful opportunity to create new relationships with the creative forces in the film industry here in Charleston,” Melville stated.

Melville’s first novel, Midnight Omen Déjà vu, experienced sales catapulting with the announcement last month of the novel based TV series now in pre-production. The novel series captivates readers as the story of salty pirates and Celtic folklore explodes with each page. Melville is a rich addition to the talent migrating to the historical southern coast.
“It’s a tremendous opportunity to live in an area so rich with history and culture. I intend to take advantage of the wealth of information surrounding me here as I write,” Melville stated.

Marti Melville is available for interviews.
