Fifteen-Year-Old Launches Innovative Online Social Calendar in United States

San Diego, CA (I-Newswire) July 13, 2011 - San Diego, CA: Fifteen-year-old Reid Jackson launched the world’s first social calendar website with unique sharing features to internet users within the United States today. Prior to the U.S. launch, HYPERLINK "http://www.calfix.com" www.calfix.com (Calfix) acquired more than 30,000 subscribers in the U.K., since January, and that number is expected to climb as demand for the innovative calendar system increases.

“I noticed that events began to conflict in my life as a teenager,” Jackson explains. “I was invited to family dinners and friends’ parties on the same night. I needed a way to see all of my events, and those of my friends, in one place.”

After deciding to create the online network, Jackson sought out and hired a web development team, who mistook him for being 21 years old, to code the site and take his ideas to the next level.

On a Calfix user’s profile, all personalized appointments or events appear within a shared calendar. Each user is able to see what other friends are doing and when, unless privacy settings are used to prevent it. The calendar keeps friends and family connected, and makes sharing events and experiences easy because pictures and YouTube videos can be uploaded onto a dedicated page. The event can then be rated, mapped, and commented upon.

“After a year I want to have about 1 million members,” explains Jackson. “After that, well, we’ll just have to see how much we get invested and how many members we have.”

Aside from studying, playing soccer and tennis, and socializing with friends, Jackson’s activities include spending time with his family in their London home. “I think that age should never be a factor in entrepreneurship,” said Reid Jackson. “If someone has an idea – go for it. Don’t let anything ever get in your way.”
