Federated Payment Systems Sponsors Summer Picnic for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) hosted their Annual Summer Picnic on Saturday June 2nd. This event was sponsored by Federated Payment Systems, a leading international provider of credit card processing and merchant services.
Online, June 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) hosted their Annual Summer Picnic on Saturday June 2nd. The Annual Summer Picnic is a highly anticipated event for those in the BBBSLI mentoring program. This year nearly 200 Bigs, Littles and their families gathered to enjoy a fun-filled day together and interact with BBBSLI staff and members of the Federated team.

Games of dodgeball, softball and a water balloon challenge filled the fields and a DJ performed all afternoon. Inside the pavilion, Bigs and Littles worked together on arts and crafts such as a 15' agency mural or played board games while enjoying a catered picnic lunch. In addition, every child was invited to select two brand new books from the book fair table. Thanks to Federated Payments, BBBSLI was able to provide a day filled with excitement, without worrying about the impact on their budget.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island matches children who may be facing adversity who would benefit from an additional caring adult in their life with a volunteer mentor. Once matched, the Bigs and Littles get together a couple of hours a couple of times a month. Through events like this Annual Picnic, Bigs and their Littles experience different outdoor activities together, while strengthening their relationship. Most certainly, it is the consistency of our Big Brothers and Big Sisters that has the greatest impact on the life of a Little.
