FDM Group's COO Places in TechCityInsider's Top 100

Sheila Flavell has been featured in TechCityInsider's prestigious TCi 100

FDM Group's Chief Operating Officer, Sheila Flavell, has been featured in TechCityInsider's prestigious TCi 100, listing the top 100 remarkable people that are helping to make digital London tick.

Flavell, who spearheads the international IT services provider's global expansion and global Women in IT campaign said, "I am honoured to be recognised as one of the most influential people on London's tech scene. TechCityInsider is a fantastic publication dedicated to keeping the public up to date with the latest tech news."

The TCi 100 is a snapshot of the year in technology and the people behind the scenes that are helping to redefine digital business in London and beyond. The top 100 list is based solely on peer recommendations from other members; which include other organisations, investors, education providers, and media and governmental organisations.

TechCityInsider's criteria for inclusion in the list, which features a total of 31 women and 68 men, include business ideas, founder experience, reputation, and contribution to the community and future prospects.

Flavell continues, "It is exciting to see so many women in the TCi 100. I am extremely passionate about encouraging more women to pursue a career in IT and seeing TechCityInsider showcase the successes of these many women will do just that."

FDM's CEO, Rod Flavell said, "It is down to Sheila's hard work and commitment in making FDM one of Europe's fastest growing IT services providers that has enabled her to attain an spot in the list. She has been instrumental to FDM's expansion and growth, enabling the company to be the UK's largest IT graduate employer (FDM will be hiring over 1000 graduates in 2014)"

This recognition comes at a time when FDM has reached a milestone for its global Women in IT campaign; announcing a rise in female employee figures reaching 25% worldwide, well above the 17% industry average. Flavell said, "Reaching 25% women in our overall global workforce is a fantastic achievement for us. We pride ourselves on continuing to drive gender diversity in the workplace, and this statistic is a true testament to our ongoing commitment to encouraging and supporting more women to pursue a career in IT."

As an employer that is committed to attracting, recruiting and retaining women in the IT industry, FDM is recognised as one of the UK's Top Ten IT Employers for Women (UK Guardian 300 2012/13) and its Women in IT campaign has since gone from strength to strength.

In 2013, FDM was announced as the headline sponsor for the everywoman in Technology Awards and has continued this partnership into 2014. The purpose of this awards platform is to recognise and celebrate the achievements of women in the industry and promote them as role models to other women looking to develop an IT career.
