The Chatham County M/WBE Program is again partnering with Broadlands Financial Group, LLC for training workshops. On November 16 we will be offering the following program:

This workshop will be the first in a series of estimating training sessions. Based on the input of a large number of Chatham County contractors, Broadlands has developed an effective program that will help you estimate construction jobs quickly, accurately, and effectively. The primary goal of this first session is to enable small to medium sized contractors to conduct accurate estimating in-house, utilizing affordable software programs and achieving satisfactory profit margins.

The agenda includes:
- Basic estimating techniques
- A cursory review of available estimating software programs
- Typical mistakes that estimators make, and how to avoid them
- Optimizing profit margins
- A critique of a real (anonymous) bid response
- Q&A

This workshop is full of valuable information for any estimator, and will provide an important foundation for future sessions on this and other topics. We encourage you to participate, and to contact us if you have any specific requests for this program.
