The Walking Dead television show has gone from strength to strength since its original release on Halloween 2010. The show follows main character Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) from waking up in a hospital bed after being shot, into the world of the walking dead. Whilst he was in a coma a deadly virus savaged the world and infected most of the population, turning them into flesh-eating zombies.
As the story progresses Rick finds his wife Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and son Carl (chandler Riggs) along with a group of survivors outside the city of Manhattan. From here the story follows the group as they survive day to day and move from their camp all the way to the Centre For Disease Control where they lose all hope of the virus ever being cured.
The second series saw the group travel further and suffer more trails in the ever changing world, seeing a prison at the end of the last episode as a sign of hope. The third series will take the story directly from this point and show the survivors transform the prison into a habitable living area. This series will see the main enemy from the comic books introduced, The Governor, a man who has lost all sense of right and wrong and rules a huge group of people under new and strange laws.
