Family Ponding at the Larchmont Reservoir

Family fun with Sheldrake on June 1st. Join us as we look to see who is living in in our local pond. Come help us welcome the much awaited warm weather!

After what seemed like the winter that would never end, the snow has finally melted and the temperatures are rising. It's time to turn off the T.V., get off the couch, and get outside! Sheldrake would like to help you get back outside and enjoying nature, so we are offering many programs to help you do so. Here is a preview of one of our upcoming outdoor programs.

Family Ponding at the Larchmont Reservoir (ages 5 and up) - Sunday, 6/1, 2pm

Join Sheldrake as we look to see who's living in the pond. We'll scoop directly from the pond's edge to find tadpoles, dragonfly larvae, beetles, fish, and whoever else is there! Come and learn about the tiny inhabitants of our local pond. Children 5 years and up along with their parents are welcome to attend. The cost is $5 per child, but adults are free. Please RSVP at 914-834-1443 or at scheduling@sheldrakecenter.org to ensure ample supplies.

So shed those winter jackets and blankets and come outside with Sheldrake. Learn about your local wildlife while soaking up the warmth of the sun. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
