Family Caregivers Matter To Nonprofit Organizations

Allsup True Help® Disability Web Expo features resources for caregivers of veterans, stroke survivors, heart disease patients and more; hosts online forum Nov. 29

Allsup, a nationwide Social Security Disability Insurance representation company, is pleased to join with more than a dozen nonprofit organizations to highlight programs and resources designed to support the more than 65 million family caregivers in the U.S.

The Allsup True Help® Disability Web Expo is a one-stop shop for busy caregivers to get help with everything from managing finances to finding local support groups for themselves and their loved ones. On Nov. 29, from 1 to 2 p.m. (EST), caregivers, their loved ones and those who work with them can join in the discussion "Why Family Caregivers Matter," with National Family Caregivers Association (NFCA) CEO John Schall.

Register by going to WebExpo.Allsup.com. After registering, you can visit the Expo any time through Dec. 26. On the day of the forum, go to NFCA's booth in the Empowerment Exhibit Hall to join the open chat. Visitors to NFCA's booth may download National Family Caregiver Month posters and other resources.

"This year's theme, 'Family Caregivers Matter,' resonates with health and social service related organizations across the board," said Tai Venuti, manager of Strategic Alliances at Allsup. "They recognize the important and often demanding role family caregivers have in managing their loved one's physical and mental health, and in many cases, their financial and emotional needs as well.

"It's encouraging to see the growth of programs and resources tailored to family caregivers' specific needs. For example, providing care for someone who has cancer is a much different experience than caring for a veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder."

Caregivers can find programs and information from a variety of organizations in the Allsup True Help® Disability Web Expo's Resource Center.
