Fabritecture Delivers Sail Shade Canopies for Lattitude Lakelands Development

New South Wales (I-Newswire) September 12, 2011 - Fabritecture has installed the new tensile fabric canopies as part of the Latitude lands development by Eclipse Developments Pty Ltd in Lakelands, WA.

Latitude Lakelands been designed to include 194 architecturally designed, double‐brick homes, providing resort style living for the over 55s. A transformation of the outdoor entertainment area was completed and fabric canopies were incorporated to the design to provide weather protection for residents, as well as offering a visually attractive feature to the buildings. Fabritecture’s tensile fabric canopies cover the alfresco area outside the main function building and over the swimming pool decking area and are in keeping with the state‐of‐the‐art design and tranquil ambiance of the surrounding architecture, facilities and landscape.

The social hub of Lattitude's community is the clubhouse, a state-of-the-art resort-style facility. The Clubhouse offers residents facilities as a relaxing café/lounge area, sports bar, cinema, library/computer room, indoor/outdoor lap pool, gymnasium, practice bowling green, function room, arts and crafts room and residents workshop.

Covering a total plan area of 178 m2, the fabric sails were tensioned between existing steelwork using exclusive anodized extrusions with stainless steel bolts. Premium Ferrari pre-constraint PVC 502S, in white translucent, was used for its diffused natural daylight, waterproof and UV protection, resistance to dirt and thermal comfort.
