F.I.C.T Backs Nigerian Government On Her Head Lice Program
F.I.C.T (Fict Information Communication Technology) a giant I.C.T empowerment firm based in Nigeria has thrown its weight behind the Nigerian Government's aim of Launching the head lice program.
Lagos (I-Newswire) February 13, 2013 - Over the past 3 to 4 decade, lice infestations are increasing at all social levels in Nigeria. A Nigerian journalist estimated that “the best part of a million” people in his country were infested by head lice.
The youth culture that results in poor hygienic conditions, in long hair improperly cared for and sharing of clothing and beds, contributes to head and body lice.
No wonder the Nigerian government has taken steps into curbing this deadly infection by launching a head lice program dubbed "Kill Head Lice Infection". The best part of it all is that the F.I.C.T (Fict Information Communication Technology) that earlier hold the Nigeria Government has now promised to support and back the head lice program.
But, what really moved F.I.C.T to accept the head lice program?; A million dollar question. Well, many Nigerians think it should be because of the latest head lice reports released by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
They are:
1) The medical journal Archives of Dermatology said: “Pediculosis capitis [head-lice infestation] has become a widespread problem in Nigeria, reaching epidemic proportions in some areas.” Health authorities estimate that six to ten million individuals in Nigeria are affected annually.
2) Based on studies conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, a significant number of students tested had head lice. In fact, Professor David Taplin, of the University of Miami School of Medicine says: “In some areas the incidence is as high as 40 percent.” It has been rumored by many Nigerians that the above reports might have convinced F.I.C.T into allowing the Federal Government of Nigeria to continue the Head Lice program.
The head lice program is aimed at improving the overall health and wellbeing of the Nigerian People. According to Balogun Adeola of The Tide Newspaper "This head lice program is geared towards educating the Nigerian People especially those living in rural areas on ways of reducing the spread and ultimately, tips to eradicate this deadly infection.
The F.I.C.T Chairman Professor Vita has reinstated his readiness to support the Nigerian government to the last by making sure that the head lice initiative is being carried on successfully down to the end.
Many Nigerians are very happy with this latest development. If everything works out as planned and hoped for, then head lice would be a thing of the past as Nigerians would have known how to get rid of head lice fast.
