Exclusive Arts Workshops Led By Industry Experts Prepares Toronto Teens For Success In The Arts And In Life

The world is a competitive place, and the arts industry is no different.

Take for example, Etobicoke School of the Arts: 1,000 students apply each year, yet only 200 of them are accepted. So how do we prepare aspiring artists for success? It's simple...to be coached by experts who have achieved significant success in their careers. That's why Canada's Academy of Stage and Studio Arts is snagging the best of the best to coach Toronto teens in its 2013 Spring Workshop Series.

Canadian artists, Peter Katz (2012 JUNO Nominee and Contemporary Folk Musician), James Duncan (Star of the legendary production of War Horse), Nick Lascot (Sculpture Artist Extraordinaire) and Nicky Phillips (Professional Composer and Vocal Coach), will be Stage and Studio's workshop coaches this May!

Not only will these expert coaches prepare participants for audition and show success, but they'll also be intentionally teaching crucial leadership skills through arts education. Skills such as confidence, relationship building, problem solving and communication are strongly integrated within the workshop curriculums. The focus is to help students develop an edge over all of the competitors they will encounter in their lives, both in and out of the arts industry.

"Students are simply not learning the skills that matter most for the 21st century." - Tony Wagner, Author: The Global Achievement Gap

It is Stage and Studio's unique and innovative approach of combining arts and leadership programming that creates the formula every child needs to succeed.

The 2013 Spring Workshop Series will offer class choices in sculpting, puppetry, acting, vocal performance, singing and songwriting, and are open to all aspiring artists aged 7-16.
